With over 30 years of experience, Tim McClean brings unparalleled expertise and artistry to Fern & Sage Salon. As a seasoned stylist and educator, his career spans the globe, including roles as a platform artist and a CUTTING&STYLE.MASTER for the prestigious Australian brand, KEVIN.MURPHY.
Specializing in textured hair cutting, curly hair, and styles of all lengths, Tim uses advanced techniques to create volume, enhance natural waves or curls, and strategically remove bulk for a perfectly balanced look.
Trained in some of Melbourne’s most renowned salons, Tim honed his craft in classic cutting and styling before building an impressive career across North America. From runway shows and fashion weeks to magazine shoots, celebrity clients, and top salons in Toronto, Melbourne, and beyond, Tim now brings his passion and precision to the Cowichan Valley.

SENIOR STYLIST
Julia, is a Senior Stylist with nine years of experience. She began her career on Vancouver Island, where her passion for hair first took root, and has spent the last four years honing her craft in Kelowna. Now, she’s thrilled to return to her Island home, bringing her expertise back to where it all began.
Specializing in blonding and precision cutting, Julia excels in every aspect of hairstyling, from razor cutting to creative colours. She has a keen eye for envisioning the perfect style and the skill to bring it to life with precision and flair.
More than just a stylist, Julia creates a warm and welcoming space where clients can relax, share a laugh, and enjoy a personalized experience. Her goal is to ensure every client leaves her chair feeling confident, refreshed, and the best version of themselves.

Danielle, an experienced Senior Stylist, has been practicing hairstyling in the valley for over 9 years. She is proficient in various hairstyles, from blow dries to bobs and bright colours. However, Danielle always puts people first in her work. She strives to help her clients boost their confidence, express themselves, and receive the TLC they deserve. Whatever your hairstyling needs may be, you can trust that Danielle has got you covered.

Sonja is thrilled to be rejoining Fern + Sage after a fulfilling maternity leave! With six years of experience behind the chair, she is passionate about creating effortless, beautiful hair while curating a welcoming and detail-oriented guest experience.
Driving in from Port Alberni for Sunday appointments, Sonja cherishes the time spent reconnecting with clients and making them feel their best. Friendly, transparent, and meticulous with the little details, she believes in elevating every look with care and intention. When she’s not in the salon, you’ll find her chasing after her toddler, shuttling her tweens to activities, or soaking up time outdoors—whether it’s a scenic drive, a refreshing swim, or a great cup of coffee.

Dani is an experienced hairstylist with a deep passion for the art of hairstyling. With over three years of industry experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Fern & Sage Salon.
Dani takes pride in her work, finding true joy in the ability to help her clients feel absolutely fantastic about themselves when they step out of the salon. She is well-versed in all aspects of hair styling, from creating highlights and lowlights, to crafting beautiful haircuts.
Dani is thrilled to embark on a new chapter in her career at Fern & sage, where she will have the opportunity to collaborate with an incredibly talented team.

Now working part-time on weekends, Elley embraces the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces while welcoming new ones to her chair. Her thoughtful approach ensures each client enjoys a truly unique and individualized salon experience. Elley is excited to continue growing her career while creating beautiful looks and lasting client relationships.
